The eyes have it, post 22: this was hands-down one of my most satisfying and challenging cases. This active, hard working husband and father had a retinal detachment with several procedures to save and restore his vision. His retinal surgeon referred him to me to address the repeated trauma on the tissues around his eyelid that left his right lid non-functional, with gross asymmetry between his two sides. We waited several months after his last retinal procedure to see if the situation would improve at all, but it remained. On both sides I performed a browlift, upper blepharoplasty, eyelid ptosis repair, lower blepharoplasty and full face CO2 laser resurfacing. Symmetry is almost impossible to create surgically, so we were thrilled with this outcome. He is excited about his new, refreshed look that maintained and highlighted his masculine facial features.
