- Photodynamic Acne Scar Remodeling
Severe acne scar treatment with fat based stem cells and laser resurfacing. This lovely young woman had some significant acne scarring that had been recalcitrant to other treatments. We took an aggressive, multifaceted approach utilizing stem cells from her own fat along with customized laser resurfacing.
Fat derived stem cells orchestrate the regeneration on a cellular level by controlling the elastin and collagen production by fibroblasts in our skin, making the healing tissue more elastic as opposed to firm, tough like a scar full of only collage. These stem cells make up only 0.2% of our fat by volume, but comprise 27% of the total cell count. These cells are tough and highly activated by stress (what we all want to be, resilient, hard to kill).
