- Light Based Acne Treatment
Results after one multifaceted treatment for acne scarring. Extensive acne scarring is one of the most difficult situations to treat. Multiple treatment modalities are utilized simultaneously, and each treatment needs to be specifically selected and maximized. Each treatment has aspects of the scar that it is very good at treating, and other areas that it lacks, so a treatment plan must be expertly thought out and customized to each individual aspect of the acne scars present. My patients often get small, focused areas of 7 or more modalities with the treatment: CO2 Laser, VBeam, IPL, Subcision, PRP, Microneedling, TCA, PDT, and Fillers. Interestingly, the appearance of the scars tends to get slightly worse with age, simply because as we start getting into our late 20s and 30s, our underlying soft tissue volume loss allows the scars to sink more, making them more apparent.
