- EnigmaLift - Upper Eyelid Surgery
Not your typical cosmetic post, but interesting and something that can be far more difficult! Upper lid ptosis repair - this woman was initially sent to me for an upper eyelid surgery to address excess skin. Her left eye was very difficult to see out of, yet that was the actual margin of the eyelid itself that was sinking, called ptosis. That differentiation is supremely important to pick up and recognize, and it makes things a whole different ball game! These are the results after an anterior approach, levator advancement ptosis repair. The nuances here come with the shape of the now lifted eyelid margin, where the eyelashes live. There should be a subtle peak just medial to the pupil, towards the nose. It’s a game of microns at this point, as our brain is relatively astute at picking up any changes in that upper lid shape and height.
