Eyelid reconstruction, part 2: lower eyelid tightening, cicatricial ectropion repair. This man had a prior melanoma removed from his lower eyelid a few years before I met him, and the tension vectors created by the closure rolled his left lower eyelid outward, causing constant eye irritation and draining tears that were debilitating. Here you see the results of a lower lid tightening procedure called a lateral tarsal strip and medial spindle procedure - scroll right to see an intraoperative photo.
