- MOHS & Reconstruction Surgery
Eyelid reconstruction series, post 10: after Mohs micrographic surgery, this complex defect involved the margin of the eyelid, including the eyelashes, but thankfully did not go full thickness through the posterior part of the eyelid. The major concern here as a surgeon is to affect the position of the lower eyelid, we do not want it pulled down. Working with my fellow at the time, we restructured and strengthened the lower lid with a lateral canthopexy and anchored a rotation flap to that new solid base, following up with some stem cell based regenerative medicine to put the icing on the cake!
